Mobilizing the Gig Economy for Youth; Providers and Young People Co-Creating to Meet Their...

Updated: Jun 4, 2019

This session will seek to explore ways in which the youth and financial service providers can co-create opportunities for youth employment in the gig economy particularly among young women in low-income countries. Participants will discuss how youth are leveraging technology and social networks in the gig economy, how they set their aspirations, and discuss related social norms.

We will share examples of test solutions that facilitate youth engagement in the gig economy through co-creation. We will engage with the audience on ways in which youth can be linked to the key actors in the gig economy and the solutions, financial or otherwise, that can enable youth to leverage opportunities arising from the gig economy.
