Debunking Disinformation: A Systemic Approach and Conversation with Youth Activists

Economic transitions of the past resulted in dramatic skillset changes. Today’s transition to tech-driven post-COVID economies calls for a 21st century skillset that includes digital and soft skills, important for critical thinking and information processing. This session will unpack the role disinformation plays in youth’s lives, and how development practitioners can work in partnership with youth to tackle this new threat. Youth panelists will provide snapshots of how disinformation is impacting their lives – including economic opportunities and livelihoods within their communities, and how youth-led and youth-serving organizations are working to address it.
