YEO 2030 is thrilled to announce Fiona McRaith, Senior Manager and Advisor to the President and CEO at the Bezos Earth Fund, as one of the headline speakers at the 2024 Global Youth Economic Opportunities (GYEO) Summit taking place Sept. 9-12 in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA!
McRaith works across internal and external teams to weave together narratives and advance strategic objectives and initiatives at the Earth Fund. Before joining the organization, she spent three years at the World Resources Institute.
She began her environmental career when she was 14 years old, after being inspired by a high school teacher. McRaith and two friends started a nonprofit that sought to raise awareness and action on plastic debris. She became a youth ambassador and activist on climate change and climate solutions.
MCRaith has previously held roles with the White House Office of Management and Budget during the Obama Administration, the Alliance for the Great Lakes, and Action for the Climate Emergency. She is a member of the Board of Directors of The Climate Initiative. Fiona is a graduate of McGill University.
She will join fellow headliners Dean Karlan, Chief Economist at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and Ragina Arrington, CEO of Clinton Global Initiative University at the Clinton Foundation.
This year's Summit companion theme, Youth Driving the Green Economy, examines emerging programming and evidence around climate change, the just transition, circular economy/waste management, green entrepreneurship and green jobs, green skilling, climate finance, water security, ecosystem collaboration and intergenerational advocacy.
