Quarterly Update: Action Team Progress

Our YEO 2030 Action Teams are hard at work developing tools and resources for advancing youth economic opportunities.

• The Financing for Youth Team is testing their financial app, which uses gamification and blockchain technology to enhance the financial literacy of local, youth-led organizations and will soon conduct their survey centered on youth-friendly financial products and services in South Asia and East Africa.

• The Inclusive Workplaces Team is developing a resource on inclusion of young people with disabilities with private sector companies and foundations such as IKEA Foundation, Capgemini, Himalayan Stocks, and Bollore Logistics.

• The Green Jobs Team is creating a tool that will contain a compendium of resources and approaches that will serve as a one-stop shop on green jobs for multi-stakeholders.

• The Leveraging Social Capital Team is piloting mentorship and apprenticeship programs for early career students in Palestine and Morocco aimed at building peer-to-peer networks and connections with intergenerational allies.

• The Social Entrepreneurship Team is launching its social media spotlight series to showcase the initiatives and global impact of young entrepreneurs advancing education, climate action, digitalization, and mental health support.

• The Youth Inclusion Team is developing a compendium of tools and approaches on meaningful youth engagement.

• The Private Sector Action Team is conducting key informant interviews with private sector companies to develop a resource on advancing private sector engagement for decent youth economic opportunities. They will also work on hosting a webinar with leading private sector companies and young professionals focused on private sector engagement.

• The Mentorship for Entrepreneurs Action Team is analyzing seven global mentorship programs using Youth Business International’s mentorship diagnostic tool and will provide recommendations to strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of these programs. They are also developing a resource that examines the challenges facing global mentorship programs and strategies to overcome hurdles while strengthening program design.
