How Education, Training, and Agri-food Systems Act Together to Accelerate Skilling for Sustainable Futures
Dr. Walter Odongo is an experienced Agricultural Economist with a demonstrated history of working in higher education and agriculture in low- and middle-income countries. He is skilled in scientific research, data analysis, grant writing and project management, community outreach, and program coordination. Walter is currently the Head of Department of Rural Development and Agribusiness at Gulu University in Uganda, and in this capacity, he is engaged in the Learning Agriculture and Entrepreneurship (LEAP) intervention. He has conducted end of project evaluations for the Feed the Future Inclusive Agricultural Markets program (USAID) and for the Project for the Restoration of Livelihoods in Northern Uganda (IFAD). Walter has over 25 scientific articles in international peer reviewed journals to his name, including several on the adoption of environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
