Juan Carlos Thomas Soto is the Vice President of Entrepreneurship and New Ventures at TechnoServe, where he leads the scale up of the organization's impact among entrepreneurs and small-and-growing businesses in the developing world. He also leads the exploration and development of new business models for TechnoServe, including impact investing, Ed Tech and Outcome based payments. Previously, he served as TechnoServe´s Global Entrepreneurship Director and Chile Country Director. Before opening the TechnoServe office in Chile in 2008, Juan Carlos worked in the Corporate Finance and Capital Markets division at Bank Boston Chile. He has lectured on finance, entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship at various universities. Juan Carlos holds an MBA from INSEAD and a bachelor’s degree from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and is a current member of the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE)’s Executive Committee and of WEF's Global Council on the Future of Job Creation.
