Rita

Rita Akello is a Strategic Education Advisor at VVOB in Uganda. In this capacity, she strengthens the design of VVOB’s interventions in the area of skilling and manages partnerships with the Ministry of Education and Sports, the emerging Uganda National Institute for Teacher Education, and several teacher training institutions, including Gulu University. With a background in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, Rita has worked with small and medium enterprises, farmer organizations, youth, and formal and non-formal education actors in Uganda for over 10 years. She is experienced in all aspects of business incubation, management, linkages to business financing, and has a passion for education with a blend in gender-responsive pedagogy that leverages on creation of practical learning initiatives providing learning solutions that enhance school-to-work transition for young people.
